Notifications and digests
What Mavo sends, where it shows up, and how to tune reminders, coverage alerts, the family digest, and the morning briefing.
Mavo's job is fewer surprises, not more pings. Everything it sends is tunable, and the in-app inbox keeps a complete record either way.
Where notifications show up
- In Mavo: the inbox bell. Always on, everything lands here, nothing is silently lost.
- Push: on devices where you've allowed it.
- Email: from notifications@mavolife.com. Some emails carry one-tap links, so you can accept an assignment or approve something without signing in.
What Mavo sends
- Event reminders you set on an event: at the start, 10 or 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 1 day before.
- "You're on this" when something is assigned to you, with one-tap accept or pass (Covered plan and up). Assigning something to yourself stays quiet.
- Coverage nudges when an assignment sits unconfirmed for a day, or something two days out still has no owner (Covered plan and up).
- Updates on things you sent in, when Mavo finishes processing a forwarded email or an upload.
- The family digest and morning briefing, on their own schedule (below).
- Suggestions, like offering to turn a repeated assignment into a rule.
Double-bookings and other plan gaps show up in Needs Attention on Home rather than pinging anyone.
Tune what you get
Open your personal settings (from your profile menu) and choose Notifications. Each kind of notification (reminders, coverage alerts, follow-up nudges, digest, sent-in updates) has its own email and push choice. Email starts on; push starts off until you allow it. Today these choices apply to the whole family, and the in-app inbox always stays on.
The family digest
Every family gets the digest, on by default: what's coming up, grouped by day, with owners shown. Set it up in Settings → Digest: weekly (Sunday at 5:00 PM out of the box) or daily, on the day and time you pick, by email and push if you like. If nothing's coming up, Mavo skips it rather than sending an empty email. On the Covered plan and up, the digest also lists what still needs an owner.
The morning briefing
The briefing is the digest's smarter sibling, included with the Covered plan and up, and off until you turn it on in Settings → Digest. Each morning (7:00 AM by default) Mavo writes a short note about the day ahead: who's on what, anything without an owner, weather worth knowing about, and overlaps it spots. On a clear day it says so in one line.
A good starting setup
- Keep email on for the digest and for assignments; the one-tap links earn their keep there.
- Allow push for reminders and coverage alerts if you want a tap on the shoulder instead of an email.
- Start with the weekly digest on Sunday evening, and add the morning briefing when the season gets busy.
