Privacy Policy

Mavo holds the details of your family’s daily life — schedules, lists, the people you care for, and the things you forward in to keep track of. We treat that as private. We don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use your family’s content to train our own AI models. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Account information. Your name, email address, and sign-in credentials, or the details from a sign-in provider you choose.
  • Your household content. Calendars and events; lists, meals, routines, tasks, reminders, and notes; the family members you add (including children), with their roles, time zones, and notification preferences; files and attachments you upload; and your conversations with Mavo AI.
  • Content you forward or import. Emails you forward in (including their headers, body, and attachments), files you upload, text you paste, and links you share, which we process to create plan items.
  • Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card details. We receive your plan, billing status, and contact information — not your full card number.
  • Usage and technical data. Log and device information, the features you use, and error reports, so we can run and improve the service. We don’t track you across other websites.

How we use your information

We use your information to run Mavo: to organize and display your household, power Mavo AI and search, send the notifications you set up, process the email and files you send in, and provide support. We use it to manage your subscription and payments, to keep the service safe and working, and to meet our legal obligations. To improve Mavo, we look at aggregate, non-identifying patterns.

That is the entire list. We don’t sell your information, show you ads, or use your family’s content to train our own AI models.

How Mavo AI uses your information

When you use Mavo AI, we send the relevant parts of your request — your message, related household context, and any files or pages you ask it to use — to third-party AI providers so they can generate a response and help organize your household. We reach these providers through an AI routing service (OpenRouter), which forwards each request to one of several underlying model providers. The specific models and providers change as we evaluate and improve the assistant. When Mavo AI searches the web or checks the weather for you, your search query or a location is sent to the services listed below.

Where it’s available, we prefer providers and settings that don’t retain your content or use it to train their models, but we can’t guarantee zero retention on every request. We never sell your information, and we don’t use your family’s content to train our own AI models.

Who we share data with

Mavo runs on a small set of carefully chosen providers. We share only what each one needs to do its job, and each is bound by its agreement with us. We don’t allow any of them to sell your data. When this list changes, we’ll update this page.

  • OpenRouter — routes Mavo AI requests to third-party AI model providers. Receives your messages, related household context, and the contents of any files or pages you ask Mavo AI to use.
  • Cloudflare — stores the files and attachments you upload, as private objects served through links that expire.
  • Stripe — processes payments. Receives your name, email, and payment details; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Resend — sends our notification and sign-in emails, and receives the emails you forward in for processing.
  • Inngest — runs background jobs: delivering notifications, running the scheduled checks you set up, and Mavo AI’s longer tasks.
  • Exa — performs web searches when Mavo AI looks something up. Receives the search query.
  • Open-Meteo — provides forecasts when Mavo AI checks the weather. Receives a location.
  • Vercel — hosts the application and provides the isolated computing environment used to process your files.
  • Sentry — receives error reports so we can fix problems. Identifying details are scrubbed before reports are sent.
  • Cloud hosting and database providers (United States) — operate our servers and store your data.

If you turn on browser or device push notifications, they are delivered through your browser or operating system’s push service.

Sharing within your family space

Information you add to a family space is available to the members of that space according to their role. You choose who to invite and can remove members at any time. Members of one family space cannot see another family’s information.

How we protect your information

We encrypt your data in transit, limit access to what’s needed to serve requests authenticated as you, and store uploaded files as private objects served through links that expire. Every record is tied to a family space, and members of one space can’t reach another’s data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and email hello@mavo.life if anything looks wrong.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. Some history, such as activity and older items, is retained according to your plan. When you delete an item, it’s removed from your household; when you delete your account, we remove the information we hold for you within 30 days. Uploaded files are removed from storage on a regular schedule, backups age out on their own retention schedule, and operational logs are rotated regularly.

Your rights and choices

  • Export. Download your household data from inside Mavo at any time.
  • Correct. Edit the information Mavo holds — your profile, family members, and items — from inside the app.
  • Delete. Delete individual items, leave a family space, or delete your whole account. Account deletion removes the information we hold for you within 30 days.
  • Access. Ask us what we hold about you. If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights to access, correct, port, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and we won’t discriminate against you for exercising them. Email hello@mavo.life and we’ll help.

Children’s privacy

Mavo is built for adults (18 and older) coordinating a household. Adults often add information about children in their care — a child’s schedule, activities, or profile. The adult who manages a family space is responsible for the information about minors in it and for having the right to add it. Mavo is not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has created their own account, contact hello@mavo.life and we’ll address it.

International users

Mavo is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you agree that your information may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change, with a new “Last updated” date. We’ll flag material changes — new categories of data we collect, or new providers we share with — at the top of the page and, where appropriate, with an in-app notice.
