Page 1 has sleep, study, bath, and clothing. Page 2 has laundry, storage, documents, and other or shared items. Each category has three roomy rows. A third page adds 16 blank rows for any category, so you can split a bundle into individual items or add things the starter entries don't mention.

The PDF includes 17 optional starter entries, such as sheets, notebooks, towels, and a laundry bag. Edit or delete them to match your own belongings, and add quantities you chose. The documents section stays blank for your own list. Its printed headings stay fixed, while the name, date, item, and person fields accept typed text. Both sets of checkboxes are clickable.

Make the list from what you use

Start with things you already own and plan to take. Clear any starter entry you don't want to bring; there's no need to finish every row. Write enough detail to recognize the item while packing: “blue quilt” is easier to distinguish from another blanket than “bedding.” Add the quantity you chose beside it. You can cross out a category you don't need.

These are possible entries, not a required shopping list:

• Sleep: Your chosen sheets, pillowcases, pillow, or blanket. Write the specific set you've picked rather than counting every spare at home.
• Study: Notebooks, folders, pens, a pencil case, or books you've decided to bring. A grouped row such as “notebooks and pencil case” works if you'll pack them together.
• Bath: Your towels, washcloths, toiletry bag, or caddy. List the bag's contents separately if you'll gather them from different places.
• Clothing: The clothes and shoes you plan to take. “Everyday clothes,” “sleepwear,” and “shoes” can be three bundle names; print another page if you prefer to list each piece.
• Laundry: Your laundry bag, hangers, or chosen supplies. Put an item under the heading where you'll look for it, even if it could fit elsewhere.
• Storage: The boxes, baskets, or organizers you've already chosen. A specific description, such as “two blue fabric bins,” makes the packing check clearer.
• Documents: The names of papers you have decided to bring. This is space to record your own list, not a list of documents a school requires.
• Other / shared: A favorite photo, a familiar small object from home, or something you and your roommate have discussed sharing.

Keep roommate agreement separate from packed

For an item you're bringing yourself, leave “Who will bring it” and “Agreed” blank and use the packed box. For something another person will bring, write their name and tick “Agreed” after they confirm it.

For example, “woven basket” with “Jordan” and a tick under “Agreed” means Jordan has said yes. Leave “Packed” empty until you know the basket is in its bag or box. If someone else takes over, replace the name and clear the agreement box until they confirm.

Use the sheet beside your bags

Keep the relevant page near the belongings as you gather them. Mark “Packed” when the item goes into its bag or box, rather than when you find it on a shelf. If you take it back out to use before leaving, clear that box so the list still reflects what is packed.

A grouped row works best when its contents stay together. If the notebook is packed but the pencil case is still on the desk, split that row or leave it unchecked until both are in the bag.

Type, save, and print

Download the PDF and open a copy in a reader that supports fillable forms. Select an item line to type, and click a box to check or clear it. Save the completed file, close it, and reopen it before relying on the saved copy.

The file is designed for 8.5 × 11-inch US Letter paper. Print at Actual size or 100%, and check one sheet first. For A4, choose Fit and check the resulting writing space. The white pages and fine rules also work in grayscale.

Long entries can outgrow a PDF field even if a viewer lets you keep typing. Check the print preview, shorten a description, or continue on another row. Phone and browser PDF viewers vary; if typing isn't available in the preview, open the downloaded file in a form-capable reader. For handwriting, print the file as it is, cross out unwanted starter items, and add your own. Page 3 is entirely blank for your list.
