Preparing the sheets from your current words…

The starting words and clues are an invented example. Replace them with your own.

The printable preview will appear here. You can keep editing.

Make a puzzle around something familiar

Use words from your gathering: party decorations, objects in a shared hobby, or places in a made-up adventure. Enter the answer you intend for each row. The maker rearranges its letters and leaves an answer line on the player sheet.

The starting example uses eight party-game words. For instance, LOOBLAN contains the letters in BALLOON, including both Ls and both Os. Its optional clue is “A party decoration you fill with air.” Replace the example words and clues or choose Start a blank puzzle.

The real sample’s first scrambled word, LOOBLAN, with the worked answer BALLOON, alongside the separate numbered clue.

Choose what help to give players

The puzzle PDF shows the mixed letters and a blank writing line. It contains no clues or answers. Download Optional clues separately if you want to offer hints, and keep the answer key with the host. All three files use the same row numbers even when their page breaks differ.

Write clues that point to your intended meaning. EARTH and HEART contain the same letters, so a scramble alone can have more than one answer. The key records the word you entered; it does not prove that no other word is possible. You can accept another valid answer or use a clue to narrow the choice.

Reshuffle word changes only that row’s mixed letters. It keeps its clue and position, and leaves the other rows alone. With a two-letter word such as AB, BA is the only different order. The maker tells you when another arrangement is unavailable.

Check spelling and accents before printing

Use 2–24 single words, each with 2–24 letters. The supported word characters are A–Z and the precomposed Western Latin letters in À–ÿ, excluding the multiplication and division symbols. Words such as café and élève keep their accents. Letter case stays as entered, so mixed capital and lowercase letters can give players extra hints.

Spaces, hyphens, digits and other symbols in answers produce a correction message. Nothing is silently removed to make a word fit. Duplicate answers, including case-only differences, and strings with one repeated letter such as AAAA must be corrected before export. A mixed word cannot equal an answer elsewhere in your list.

Titles allow up to 80 characters and clues up to 100. Those fields support Western Latin letters, numbers and ordinary punctuation. Unsupported characters produce a correction message. The tool keeps your spelling and clue wording; it does not look up definitions, check facts or solve an unknown anagram.

Look at the actual sample sheets

The files below contain the same invented eight-word example shown when the editor opens. Use them to check the print layout, or change the editor fields to make your own. These PDFs are for printing; use the editable JSON copy to reopen the words in this maker.

Print the player sheets and keep the key apart

Choose US Letter for 8.5 × 11-inch paper or A4 for 210 × 297-millimeter paper. Download the player puzzle, open the PDF and select portrait, single-sided printing at Actual size or 100%. Check your printer’s preview before printing several copies.

The sheets use dark text on white paper. Mixed letters are 15 points, clues and answers are 13 points, and each puzzle row has a writing line at least 0.37 inches below its letters. The maker adds pages when needed instead of shrinking the text. A 24-word list takes more paper than the eight-word sample; the preview shows every page.

Finish any spelling changes or reshuffles before downloading the final set. If you change a word afterward, download the puzzle and key again so the host and players have matching versions. Print optional clues only if you want them available during the game.

Reopen the same puzzle another day

Download editable copy saves a JSON file containing your title, answers, clues, mixed letters and row order. Use Import a saved puzzle to replace the current editor with that exact version. Importing does not reshuffle it. The file includes the answers, so give players the puzzle PDF rather than the editable copy.

Your edits stay on this page while it remains open. Reloading starts with the example. A malformed or unsupported import leaves the current puzzle intact and shows an explanation. The maker creates these files in your browser; it does not create a public puzzle link or send invitations.
