Hangman game rules and host prompts
Text equivalent of the original Mavo paper game sheets. Choose conventional drawing or a six-petal flower. The blank PDFs have space to write and draw; these instructions do not provide an interactive online game.
Two options, six missed letters
Conventional: add head, body, left arm, right arm, left leg, then right leg. Flower: the center, stem and leaves are printed already; add six petals, clockwise from the top, one per new missed letter.
Play a round
- Host: choose a secret word; draw one line per letter in the word area.
- Leave a wider gap between words. Guess one letter at a time.
- A correct letter fills EVERY matching line. Circle it in the alphabet.
- A new wrong letter: cross it out, mark one miss, draw the next part.
- A repeated guess adds nothing. Guess another letter; no extra miss.
- Reveal all letters before miss 6 to win. At miss 6, reveal the answer.
Repeated letters
For BANANA, an A guess reveals positions 2, 4 and 6 together. A repeated A changes nothing. For PAPER BOAT, P reveals positions 1 and 3 in PAPER; A appears in both words. The space stays visible and is not a guessed letter.
Host only: reveal starting word choices
Keep these choices away from the guesser. Do not print this host section behind a game board.
