## 2026–27 student dates

- September 7: Labor Day. District closed for Labor Day.
- September 10: First Day of School. First full-day session for students.
- September 21: Yom Kippur. District closed for Yom Kippur.
- October 12: Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day. District closed for Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
- October 14: Marking Period 1 Progress Reports Due. Marking Period 1 progress reports are due.
- November 3: Election Day. District closed for Election Day.
- November 5 to 6: NJEA Convention. Schools are closed for the NJEA Convention.
- November 11: Veterans Day. District closed for Veterans Day.
- November 20: Marking Period 1 Ends. End of Marking Period 1.
- November 25: Early Release. Four-hour session; dismissal at 12:45 p.m.; no CASPER.
- November 26 to 27: Thanksgiving Recess. Schools are closed for Thanksgiving and the Thanksgiving recess.
- December 22: Marking Period 2 Progress Reports Due. Marking Period 2 progress reports are due.
- December 23: Early Release. Four-hour session; dismissal at 12:45 p.m.; no CASPER.
- December 24, 2026 to January 3, 2027: Winter Recess. Winter recess; schools are closed. Central Office is open December 28–30; classes resume January 4.
- December 31: New Year’s Eve. District closed for New Year’s Eve, during winter recess.
- January 1: New Year’s Day. District closed for New Year’s Day, during winter recess.
- January 4: Classes Resume. Classes resume after winter recess.
- January 18: Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Day. District closed for the observed Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Day.
- February 5: Marking Period 2 Ends. End of Marking Period 2.
- February 15: Presidents’ Day. District closed for the observed Presidents’ Day.
- February 16: High School Early Release. High schools only: dismissal at 12:45 p.m.
- February 17: Elementary School Early Release. Elementary schools only: dismissal at 12:45 p.m.
- February 18: Middle School Early Release. Middle schools only: dismissal at 12:45 p.m.
- March 9: Marking Period 3 Progress Reports Due. Marking Period 3 progress reports are due.
- March 10: Eid-Al-Fitr. Schools are closed for tentative Eid-Al-Fitr; Central Office is open.
- March 25: Early Release. Four-hour session; dismissal at 12:45 p.m.; no CASPER.
- March 26: Good Friday. District closed for Good Friday.
- March 29 to April 2: Spring Break. Spring break; schools are closed and the Central Office is open. Classes resume April 5.
- April 5: Classes Resume. Classes resume after spring break.
- April 21: Marking Period 3 Ends. End of Marking Period 3.
- May 20: Marking Period 4 Progress Reports Due. Marking Period 4 progress reports are due.
- May 28: Early Release. Four-hour session; dismissal at 12:45 p.m.; no CASPER.
- May 31: Memorial Day. District closed for Memorial Day.
- June 18: Juneteenth. District closed for Juneteenth.
- June 22: Half-Day Session. Half-day session if no emergency days are needed; one of the last three school days, which are four-hour sessions.
- June 23: Half-Day Session. Half-day session if no emergency days are needed; one of the last three school days, which are four-hour sessions.
- June 24: Half-Day Session. Scheduled last day of school if no emergency days are needed; half-day session. The calendar notes the last three days of school are four-hour sessions.
- June 24: Last Day of School. Scheduled last day of school if no emergency days are needed.
