## 2026–27 student dates

- August 31: First day of school. First day for students.
- August 31 to November 4: First marking period. First marking period runs August 31–November 4.
- September 7: Labor Day. Schools and offices are closed; students do not attend for Labor Day.
- September 18: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- October 15: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- October 16: No school for students. Students do not attend; this is a professional learning/meeting day for teachers and a non-work day for instructional assistants.
- November 3: Election Day. Schools and offices are closed for Election Day; students do not attend.
- November 4: First marking period ends. First marking period ends.
- November 4: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early.
- November 5, 2026 to January 21, 2027: Second marking period. Second marking period runs November 5–January 21.
- November 20: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- November 25: Early release before Thanksgiving. Schools and offices dismiss 2 hours and 45 minutes early; this is the last day before Thanksgiving Holiday. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- November 26 to 27: Thanksgiving break. Schools and offices are closed for Thanksgiving Holiday.
- December 14: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- December 23: Early release before Winter Break. Schools and offices dismiss 2 hours and 45 minutes early; this is the last day before Winter Break. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- December 24 to 31: Winter Break. Schools and offices are closed for Winter Break.
- January 1: New Year's Day. Schools and offices are closed for New Year’s Day.
- January 18: Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Schools and offices are closed for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
- January 21: Second marking period ends. Second marking period ends.
- January 22: No school for students. Students do not attend; teachers work on end-of-marking-period items. The calendar also lists a professional learning/meeting day for identified CASE employees.
- January 25 to April 7: Third marking period. Third marking period runs January 25–April 7.
- February 12: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- February 15: Presidents’ Day. Schools and offices are closed for Presidents’ Day; students do not attend.
- March 1: No school for students. Students do not attend; this is a professional development day for teachers and a non-work day for instructional assistants.
- March 12: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- March 25 to 30: Spring Break. Schools and offices are closed for Spring Break.
- April 7: Third marking period ends. Third marking period ends.
- April 7: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early.
- April 8 to June 11: Fourth marking period. Fourth marking period runs April 8–June 11.
- April 30: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- May 28: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- May 31: Memorial Day. Schools and offices are closed for Memorial Day.
- June 11: Last day of school / fourth marking period ends. Scheduled last day for students and end of the fourth marking period. If emergency closing days are unused, the last student day may move to June 10, 9, 8, or 7; see the calendar’s emergency-closing note.
- June 11: Early release. System-wide dismissal is 2 hours and 45 minutes early. If an opening delay is necessary, the starred day may instead have normal dismissal.
- June 18: Juneteenth. Schools and offices are closed for Juneteenth.
