# The shared plan

> One family calendar plus lists, groceries, and meals everyone can see, with outside calendars flowing in and your Mavo calendar flowing out.

## The family calendar

Everyone sees the same calendar. Events carry a time and place, an owner, reminders, and covered status. Filter by person, and show or hide each calendar: your family's own, any custom ones, and any outside calendars you've linked, each with its own color.

Reminders are per event: at the start, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 1 day before.

## Lists, groceries, and meals

Collections keep the rest of the plan next to the calendar: shared lists, groceries, and a meal planner with days, recipes, prep, and who's cooking. You can genuinely plan the week's meals here, and Mavo AI can fill or update any of it from a chat. Your family can also create custom collections for anything it tracks: gear to pack, gifts, chores.

## Outside calendars, in

Link a calendar your family already lives by: the team schedule, the school calendar, a co-parent's feed.

1. Open Calendar, then the Calendars menu, then "Add external calendar".
2. Paste the calendar's link. Mavo checks it and suggests a name.
3. Name it, pick a color, and optionally add a hint like "kid's outdoor soccer schedule" so Mavo knows when a change deserves a heads-up.

Linked calendars stay in sync on their own. The outside calendar owns the schedule, so dates are read-only, but your family's touches on top (owner, notes, title, attendance) stick, even when the feed moves an event. When a linked calendar changes something that matters, Mavo can give the family a heads-up instead of letting it slide by.

Linking new outside calendars is included with the Family plan and up. Managing or removing ones you already linked always stays available.

## Your Mavo calendar, out

See Mavo events inside Apple, Google, or Outlook: open the Calendars menu and choose "Subscribe" to get feed links, one per calendar or everything combined, and paste one into the other app. Creating these links is included with the Family plan and up; turning one off always works.

You can also make a named share link filtered to specific calendars and people, like a "Grandma's view" with just the kids' schedules, and revoke it anytime.
